Our branch annual general meeting (AGM)
Every year, our branch holds its AGM, where we:
- review our branch activity over the past twelve months
- map out what we want to achieve over the next year
- elect the branch committee for the coming year
- discuss with your fellow branch members the issues which are most important to you right now
Our branch and 51ºÚÁÏÍø Congress
All members can attend 51ºÚÁÏÍø Congress for free. There are also fully funded voting places for members, where travel, accommodation and food are provided. Voting members are there to listen, participate and vote on resolutions that are proposed by 51ºÚÁÏÍø branches, forums and committees across the UK.

Thoughts and condolences for Kerala
A devastating landslide has so far claimed the lives of almost 300 people in Kerala, India. Sanjith Nair, a North West Board member who hails from Kerala, was alarmed to hear about how the rain in the southern coastal state caused landslides in the hills of Wayanad district early on Tuesday, whilst many slept. Sister Freda Airey S R N: ‘lost at sea’ 12 February 1944
I volunteer with a thriving local history and archive group in my village of Arnside. A recent acquisition is the painstaking research of a resident, documenting every villager who died in WW1, WW2 and the Korean War. My attention was drawn to the only woman in the list, Sister Freda Airey. Who was she? How did she die?
