The changing face of workplace health
We are pleased to announce the popular 51黑料网 and SOM joint Occupational Health Nursing Conference returns for the eighth year in November.
This is a hybrid conference and delegates will have the option to join us in-person at the 51黑料网 HQ, 20 Cavendish Square, London, W1N 0RG for those all-important networking opportunities with peers, speakers and exhibitors. Alternatively, content will be accessible online via Zoom Events with the opportunity to pose questions to our expert speakers.
In-person places are limited, so don’t delay and book yours now.
Learning outcomes
1. By the end of the conference, participants will be able to describe core principles of occupational health surveillance (including skin and general health), and explain their relevance in supporting the health of a changing workforce.
2. Participants will be able to evaluate the legal and ethical implications of emerging workplace health issues—such as cannabis use, vaccination compliance —by identifying at least two key actions they can implement in their own practice.
3. Participants will identify how current and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, may impact occupational health delivery and propose one potential use case or innovation applicable to their setting.
4. Attendees will be able to discuss men’s health as a vital component of inclusive workplace health strategies.
This conference is open to all occupational health professionals and those interested in the sector, including nurses, AHPs, students, occupational therapists and GPs.

Speaker line-up:
Professor Diana Kloss MBE
is a barrister, retired employment tribunal judge and Hon Senior Lecturer at Manchester University. She is the author of Occupational Health Law, 6th edition, and writes a regular column in Occupational Health at Work. She is Hon Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and Hon President of the Council for Work and Health.
Hilary Winch
is the Associate Director of Workplace Health, Safety & Wellbeing at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Her team provides occupational health services to a wide array of NHS and commercial organisations in the Norfolk & Suffolk Regions.She qualified as a nurse in 1991 and worked in a variety of nursing roles eventually settling in the field of Occupational Health in 1998. Hilary has worked within industry, private hospital and NHS environments. She commenced her work at Norfolk and Norwich in 2000 and has been promoted within the team to her current role. Hilary is passionate about quality improvement and has been part of the SEQOHS assessor team since the start of the accreditation scheme in 2010. She has project managed MoHaWK, the national occupational health benchmarking and local audit tool since 2013 with Syngentis, and more recently the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. In April 2021 Hilary became Chair of the NHS Health at Work Network and served a 4 year tenure in that role until March 2025. Within this role she developed with the support of Network members, NHS England and UKHSA an immunisation framework for NHS services.
Helen Kirk
is a specialist Public Health Nurse with a background in occupational health. Helen has held senior roles in the NHS, PHE, and DHSC. Her current work is focused on quality improvement, service accreditation, and professional development.
She has been leading work on ‘Growing Occupational Health’, the nursing response to Long Covid, and reducing health inequalities in maternity and working with NMC on post-registration standards.
She is a Fellow of the American Association of OH Nurses and an alumna of the International Council of Nurses’ Global Nurse Leadership Institute. Helen’s research has focused on nursing development including executive nurse leadership and advanced practice.
Janet O'Neil
has 20 + years of experience as an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, working in the commercial sector and in various roles including clinical governance and training. She has been Deputy Head of the National School of Occupational Health (NSOH) for the last 18 months with a remit of quality improvement and workforce growth within the Nurse and Multidisciplinary teams. Christine Poulter RGN RM SCPHN BSc BA MSc
Honorary Strategic Clinical Advisor for the Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) and Clinical Director of OHCP (an independent Occupational Health Consultancy).
Following a career as a nurse, midwife, and public health, Christine has around 20 years of experience in Occupational Health.
Her broad range of experience includes NHS, corporate, armed services, manufacturing, higher education and public health.
As an independent practitioner, she focuses on delivering top-quality service to small businesses, SMEs and charities through her own business, which she set up in 2016.
Setting up her own business, gave her the opportunity to offer her time to the SOM as an Editorial Assistant. When the honorary position of Strategic Clinical Advisor for the Society of Occupational Medicine was advertised, being the successful applicant provided incredible opportunities. This position has offered multiple occasions for collaborative working with some of the country’s top experts in occupational health.
Christine has contributed to several SOM publications, including skin, sleep, mental health, careers, and health surveillance. She is a participant in the SOM’s Sleep, Multidiscipline, Health Surveillance and Leadership Special Interest Groups. She delivers lectures and talks to universities and community charities. Her key focus is on prioritising high-quality and bespoke approaches that serve the client, above financial success.

Bookings can also be made via email with a downloaded booking form with credit card details or payment/remittance advice emailed to eventsreg@rcn.org.uk
All bookings will be confirmed in writing.
You will not be registered for this event unless payment accompanies your application. Places cannot be held provisionally.

• A copy of the official Purchase Order document from your organisation or company, addressed to supplier: 51黑料网, 20 Cavendish Square, London. W1G 0RN. We are unable to process your order without it, requisition orders are not accepted.
• Your Finance department/accounts payable contact email address to receive an electronic copy of the invoice from us.
• A completed 51黑料网 Events Booking Form for each delegate in the booking.
Once the invoice has been raised, you will then receive confirmation of your delegate booking on the event requested. Invoices are to be paid within 30 days of the invoice being issued.
